What makes our resorts different?

Discover what makes every stay truly one-of-a-kind.

Our Story

West Quoddy Station’s journey began in 2000, when Bill Clark, a long-time Maine enthusiast, transformed an old U.S. Coast Guard station into the peaceful haven it is today. With a passion for history and a love for Downeast Maine, Bill restored and expanded the property, keeping its maritime heritage alive while creating comfortable spaces for guests to enjoy year-round. What started as three buildings on five acres has since grown into a unique retreat that hosts visitors from all over the world.

Experience Maine Like Never Before

From the moment you arrive, you’ll feel connected to the rich nautical history of the area. Our accommodations offer a perfect balance of rustic charm and modern amenities, with stunning ocean views just outside your door. Whether you're hiking the nearby trails, exploring local lighthouses, or simply relaxing on the deck, West Quoddy Station provides a peaceful escape with plenty to explore.

Meet Your Host: Bill Clark

At the heart of West Quoddy Station is Bill Clark, a Lubec resident and dedicated Mainer with a passion for history and restoration. Bill divides his time between West Quoddy Station and West Gardiner, where he deals in antiques. His love for Lubec began on a chance visit, and in 2000, he purchased the decommissioned West Quoddy Life-Saving Station, breathing new life into the historic buildings. With a deep respect for Maine’s maritime heritage, Bill has lovingly restored each property, blending modern comfort with timeless charm. Whether welcoming guests or sharing stories of the coast’s history, Bill’s warmth ensures every stay is memorable.
